This month of love, we sat with Tigo Ghana’s Director for Mobile, Tara Squire and had a brief conversion about his favorite Ankara attire at the moment ‘ahrabata’ by annerlice.
Tara, one of the most influential people in the telecommunications industry in Ghana, had quite a busy year in 2015.

Responsible for both the Commercial and Mobile Financial Services (MFS) strategy and execution, he led his team to launch amazing products such as Tigo Big Six and Yensor Nkoaa. A lover of hiplife music and a die hard Chelsea fan, Tara wears his ‘Ahrabata’ with confidence and style.

Are you aware you were the first person to have an exclusive view and ownership of annerlice’s latest design “ahrabata”? How does this make you feel?
Special, honoured that an African brand with international quality and ambitions…consider me special enough to give this privilege, too.
How did you hear about ‘Ahrabata’?
Word of mouth….from the Annerlice boss himself.
Tell us your experience when you wore it?
Different, unique ….of course special.
What do your friends, family and colleagues say about the shirt (Ahrabata)?
Really cool, innovative and fits really well.
Would you recommend ‘Ahrabata’ for any friend or colleague?
Absolutely…. denim meets African print in the most comfy and innovative way, but simple enough for any occasion. What I like about Ahrabata is the versatility of the design.
To what extent do you think Ghanaians should wear African print shirt to work, church etc.
African print is lovely; what you need savvy designer who is able to use it for formal or casual occasions.
What advice would you give young fashion designers in Ghana?
Think global, act local — design should be practical but innovative, quality and comfort of the shirt or attire is paramount.
Any suggestion or advice for ‘annerlice’?
Keep being confident and innovative.
